Below is the original cube and the window group that was made with Knife and
Surface Split.
Time to try a different selection method.
The Edge Tool will select individual or multiple (using Shift) edge lines.
If you select an edge in error Alt+Click to deselect it.
Drag right to extrude slightly.
Leave the selection active for the next step.
