Make the cube Editable via the Icon or simply press the 'C' key.

Dramatically reducing the Phong angle (smoothing) will prevent surface distortion.
As you're making a house you want the surfaces to be clean and relatively straight.
This will also keep the model looking as it does in C4D when imported into other programs. Like Poser ; )
If you save this as *.obj don't forget to UV map it.
